Finally! A tote large enough to accommodate every book on your TBR list, all at once. Plus, whatever other treasures you can borrow from your local library, from games and puzzles to tools and craft kits to art.
The graphic elements and type used in the creation of the tote bag design came directly from the typecases of wood and metal type, and the magical wall o’wonder in the print shop. The images and graphic elements that dance with the typography were once sketches drawn by hand over a century ago or earlier this year, and became printing blocks when the imagery was cut by hand into wood or linoleum.
Before the digital art files can be created for the screen-printing process completed by our partners in spilling ink, each element is carefully printed on one of our Vandercook letterpress printing presses, to maintain the integrity of weathering nearly century and a half of work our type and some of these printing blocks have endured. It is the texture of something well-used that we don’t want to smooth away.
Like our printing blocks of type and images, these totes are sturdy and meant to work. They’re outfitted with thick canvas, flat bottoms and long handles.
