Don't Count Yer Chickens Poster
Inspired by Hatch Show Print’s logo from the early 20th century, this hand-printed poster of country wisdom is perfect for your kitchen.
If we could build a time machine, we'd go back in time to ask the shop’s founders Charles and Herbert Hatch one question: Why were chickens part of the logo? While we understand the connection between “hatch” and chickens, it's still an interesting choice, at least to us. And that doesn't stop us from having fun with puns, of course, and we'd never miss an opportunity to celebrate the history of this wonderful old print shop.
For years, Hatch Show Print's accountant, Mai Cook Fulton, begged second generation shop owner, Will T. Hatch, to update the logo and remove the chickens. She was tired of telling callers that sadly, no, the letterpress print shop was not a hatchery. The classic “dot” logo was his solution, and we've used it ever since.
