Gravy Girl Poster
A classic poster featuring a hand-carved block and a vintage advertising vibe, the Gravy Girl print highlights one of the most iconic images in the history of Hatch Show Print.
The saucy-silhouetted image printed here was created from the form of a seventy-eight inch tall woman originally used to advertise shows for Silas Green from New Orleans. The nearly eight-foot tall woman, affectionately but appropriately named Big Woman, requires six large wood blocks (26 x 40 inches each) printed on three sheets of paper to produce.
We've re-carved the Big Woman's silhouette in a variety of sizes, and this linoleum print block makes for a great one color poster in lipstick red. The text, originally written to advertise a record release, was lent to the shop so everyone can have a little sass on their walls.
